Overview
This 7-day short trek to the Holy Glacial Lake of Gosaikunda is designed for those with a short period in Nepal for its classic mountain treks and who want to feel the alpine zone and experience the Himalayas. Gosaikunda Lake (4380 m) has great religious significance and is well-known as a pilgrimage site for Hindus who flock to the site in August during Janai Purnima. The first few days are spent ascending through the forests before you reach the treeline at Cholang Pati, from where you get your first glimpse of the towering Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, and Annapurna in the far distance. Rest for the night at the tea houses of Lauribinayek and then get up early the following morning to hike up to the lakes. Return the following days to Dhunche and Kathmandu.

Itinerary
Today after breakfast you will be heading towards Dhunche which is 118km and will take around 6 hours to drive by private Jeep and almost 7 hours by local Bus. This will be an interesting journey through zigzag roads traveling through hills and beautiful villages. Throughout the journey, you will be amazed at the beauty of nature along with magnificent views of the giant Himalayas like Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang.
Enjoying local food and crossing the Trisuli River passing through the national park checkpoint, and finally reaching Dhunche.
Overnight at Hotel.
From today your trekking adventure starts, after enjoying breakfast you will be heading uphill for 6 hours towards the destination Sing Gompa.
On the way, you will be passing through the Himalayan mineral water factory and suspension bridges, along with this beautiful landscape, rhododendron forest, views of the Langtang Mountain will be eagerly welcoming us.
Passing through nature and the villages inhabited by the local Tamang community and army check post you will reach Sing Gompa and try to observe the local cheese factory there. Overnight at tea house.
Early morning enjoying the magnificent views of the mountains you will be having your breakfast and the trek starts towards Gosaikunda.
Today will be a bit harder day, as you will be heading uphill towards the mountain, but with the fabulous views of the Himalayas.
With the steep climb uphill you will reach the Gosaikunda lake, one of the sacred holy lakes for both the Hindu and Buddhist followers.
It is believed that taking a dip in this holy lake will wash away all our sins, so people frequently visit this lake and during the ‘Janayapurnima’ festival it’s very special.
If you are here during the winter the view of the surrounding mountain and the lake is the most to watch.

Today after having breakfast with the view of the lake and the Himalayas around you will be heading towards the next destination which is Tharepati.
Day will be a bit harder as you will be climbing uphill towards the top point of the Pass which is the highest altitude point of the entire trek and is also known as the Gosaikunda Pass or Lauribinayak Pass (4609M/15122Ft).
The trail for today is more zigzags as you will be ascending and descending all the way before Tharepati.
Above all the entire trail is filled with beauty and excitement, so for a photographer, this will be a thrill.
Overnight at tea house.
Today will be an easy day as you will be heading all the way downhill for 5 hours toward Kutumsang.
It is a wonderful trek downhill as you cross the forest and local villages and most possibly you will be able to see some wildlife.
Kutumsang is a beautiful local village of the Tamang community, you will be welcomed with local hospitality.
Overnight at tea house.
Early morning after breakfast and farewell to the local hospitality you will be heading downhill towards Chisapani.
As you descend you will be encountering views of the mountains, villages, and beautiful forest.
All the way with nature and local villages, viewing their day-to-day activities you will be at Chisapani, which means cold water.
This is a local village; from here you will be able to view beautiful Langtang ranges of mountains and sunrise views.
Overnight at tea house.
After breakfast descend all the way downhill for 4 hours through the oak and rhododendron forest.
In between, you will be able to view the water reservoir and some dams, as this is the main source of drinking water for the people of Kathmandu and the source of the Bagmati River.
Passing through the village with abundant marijuana plantations jungle you will reach the army check post and further head downhill to Sundarijal from where your car will be taking towards Kathmandu which is an hour's drive.
