- We will hike to the commercial side of Khumbu, which is Namche Bazaar. We mostly walk alongside the Dudh Koshi River and cross a rhododendron forest. Moreover, we walk across a few suspension bridges barbed with prayer flags. The scenes from these bridges are something to stop for. After 6 to 7 hours of walking through ups and downs, we reach Namche Bazaar.
- After breakfast, we walk for about 2 hours to Jorsalle Village for lunch. The route starts along the banks of the Dudhkoshi River and crosses two suspension bridges before reaching Monjo Village. A 20-minute descent towards the end, finally, leads to Jorsalle Village, the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park as well as the last village until Namche Bazaar.
- After lunch, we walk for around 3 hours to Namche Bazaar. With the raging Dudhkoshi River mostly to the left for about half an hour before crossing a suspension bridge, the trail in its final 2 hours ascends through a pine forest. In reaching Namche, the administrative headquarters of the Khumbu Region, the ascent often demands a little extra even from seasoned legs. Spend the night in a hotel in Namche.

- Today, we will walk the path that was used as a trade route centuries ago to trade salt and other goods with the Tibetans. We will pass villages like Phurte, Samsing, and Thesho, trekking through a scenic route of forest dominated by Rhododendron and pine trees. Since we will be passing through a forest, we might just come across some Himalayan wildlife including Musk deer, small rodents, Pheasant, Himalayan Thar, and more.
- We then ascend through the village of Thame, famous for its stunning mountain views and a nunnery at the hilltop. Continuing the trek, we will reach Taranga, a village known to be the home of Yeti, a Sherpa folklore giant that is believed to reside in the mountains. Besides that, the village is also famous for its potatoes as they are considered the best-tasting potatoes in Nepal.
- Trekking alongside the Bhote Khosi river, we will pass through the monastery of Khari Gompa, before reaching Marlung after 7 to 8 hours of trekking.

- As we have a long trek day ahead, we will start early. Today, we trek on the right bank of the Bhote Koshi river making our way to Lumde village. As we move further into the valley, you will notice fewer settlements along the way. Making our way to the pass, we will ascend a steep trail past the Gokyo Lake scenes. From the summit of the Renjo La Pass, you will get to see the views of Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, Cholatse, Taboche, Pumori, and more.
- After a while of enjoying the scenes, we should begin moving again. The down from the pass is a steep descent, and so we will trek slowly and steadily. As we leave the Gokyo glacier behind and proceed towards the Gokyo Lakes, the steep descent gradually turns into plain track. We walk for a total of about 8 hours to finally reach Gokyo.

- We will take a rest day in Gokyo Valley for acclimatization. For our acclimatization hike, we will climb the Gokyo Ri as well as visit several Gokyo lakes. These lakes are just too beautiful to not admire, make sure you have enough storage as you will be taking tons of pics here.
- We have a busy day ahead, so we will have to get on the track early in the morning. As you start the climb to Gokyo Ri, you will come across the Ngozumpa Glacier which is the largest glacier of Nepal. Climbing the Gokyo Ri peak is not a difficult exercise in itself, and the path to the top is not as challenging. However, given that you are 5000 meters above sea level, everything takes slightly more effort. Even walking a plain path takes more energy and stamina compared to sea-level walks.
- After you reach the top of the peak, you will get an expansive view of the nearby and distant mountains including Everest, Cholatse, Cho Oyu, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawache Peak, Makalu, and some other peaks that are yet to be named.

This path to the summit of Cho La will have you travel over a glacier. From the top of the pass, the views of the landscape will be dominated by Ama Dablam, along with views of peaks like Cholatese, Lobuche East, Barunste, and more.
- As challenging as the ascend feels, the way back down is equally challenging as the ice and snow make it tricky. We ascend from the Ngozumpa glacier and pass through Thangnak. After about 7-8 hours of hike, we cross the Cho La Pass and reach Dzongla.

- From Dozongla, the path to Lobuch is rocky and full of boulders. The path is ascending today as well, but it is less challenging compared to our previous day, so it won’t be a problem for us. Making our way through the rocky trail, past tiny lakes, we will reach the Lobuche Base Camp. We will take a small break at the base camp before getting on with the mountain climbing adventure. Our climbing leader will brief you on the equipment (how to use it) and the passage to the top of the peak.
- Once you begin to climb the peak, you should follow the leader and not go off on your own, This bit is very important. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to get to the peak of Lobuche from where you will get to see views of Mount Everest, Amadablam, Makalu, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, and more.

- Today, we hike along the moraine of Khumbu Glacier, walking an ascending trail to reach Thangma Riju. We then continue up to Gorak Shep which will offer us some excellent views of the Himalayas. It will take us about 2.5 hours to reach there.
- Gorka Shep is the last settlement of the region, so we will check in at a lodge there, secure our room, leave all the day and unnecessary stuff, and move on to the Everest Base Camp. You will not need your luggage at the Everest Base Camp, so it’s better to leave them at the lodging.
- The Everest Base Camp is not an exact pinpoint location on the map, it is more like a long plain area with hundreds of tents, housed by those who are looking forward to climbing the Everest peak. It will take us about 3 hours to reach the Everest Base Camp from Gorakshep.
- After exploring to our heart’s content, we will hike back to Gorak Shep, where we spend the night.

Peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kangtega, Taboche, Lobuche, Nuptse, Changtse, and Pumori can be seen from this viewpoint.
- The Kala Patthar viewpoint is among the only few spots that let you see the Everest Himalayan range in its entirety. Following a great time at Kala Patthar, we will shortly walk back to Gorakshep and continue our trek to Lobuche.
- Gorakshep to Lobuche is an easy trek, only taking about 1.5 hours and covering a distance of 4.5 km. After reaching Lobuche, we will check in at a local tea shop to stay for the night

- Today’s path is well-defined but that does not make it easy for us to climb the Kongma La Pass. First, we cross the Khumbu glacier, trekking for about 2 hours and then we reach the highlight of today’s trek. As soon as we cross the glacier, we will begin the ascending path to Kongma La. This uphill climb is not a walk in the park, it will test you physically so be prepared for the strains that come along with it.
- The top of the pass houses several Buddhist prayer flags and the view from there is simply amazing. After taking in the views, we descend down and pass through Niyang Khola and reach Chhukung after about 8 hours of trekking.

Bottled water is easily available at a low cost. But you can not use plastic bottles in the Everest region. So, they do not sell plastic bottled mineral water. You need to drink mineral water or boiled filtered water in those areas. It is better to use water purification drops and tablets which you can either bring from your own country or buy in Kathmandu or Pokhara. Sherpa Expedition and Trekking also provides water purifier pills.
